Job description
As Formulation Scientist you will contribute to the development of innovative liquid and injectable formulations within the R&D synthetics portfolio. The role combines hands on laboratory work, scientific design and process development supporting clinical trial manufacturing and future commercialisation. You will collaborate with scientific experts across multiple disciplines to advance formulation and drug delivery innovation.
Formulation and process development
Perform formulation and process development activities for parenteral and liquid dosage forms from preclinical to clinical stages
Experimental design and execution
Design formulations, execute hands on laboratory studies and document results in electronic lab notebooks and reports
Scientific and technical expertise
Build expertise in assigned areas, follow scientific literature and patents, identify best practices and contribute to innovative patient centric formulation strategies
Clinical manufacturing support
Provide input for master batch records, support criticality assessments and contribute to defining control strategies for clinical supply
Regulatory documentation
Prepare source documents for regulatory submissions and support responses to Health Authority questions
Cross functional collaboration
Work closely with internal scientific stakeholders and external partners to support development and technology transfer activities
Required competences & skills
- Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bio Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Experience in formulation and process development for synthetic drug compounds with focus on parenteral and liquid dosage forms
- Knowledge of physical pharmacy and particle engineering principles, with experience in sterile or aseptic processing, milling, nanonisation or lyophilisation considered an advantage
- Background in advanced drug delivery technologies such as nanosuspensions, biodegradable microspheres, injectable rods, gels or liposomes is beneficial
- Scientific curiosity, critical thinking and problem solving mindset
- Excellent communication skills and team oriented approach, with ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
- Skilled in hands on laboratory work with accurate and safe execution
